Re: function for a contour( for some particular level) in 2D cartesien

Hello me13m, 1. When using the integration tool, the output depends on what is being integrated on. Lines will return length Surfaces will return area Volumes will return volume In your example, because you are integrating over a contour line, it has returned the length. 2. 2D Cartesian does not pro...

Re: Installation of tecplot360ex 2015 R2

Hello chauhanji,

Unfortunately, Tecplot 360 Ex 2015 R2 is not supported on Windows XP. The last version that was supported on Windows XP was Tecplot 360 EX 2014 R1.

Re: Animation of moving particles

Hey Michael, Tecplot time animation is usually done zone by zone. What it sounds like to me is that you want to follow a particle as it is moving around. This can be done, but may require some set up. To assist you with this further, I recommend you contact our Distributor in Germany. They'll be abl...

Re: issues loading data

Hello Monstrobolaxa, It sounds like Tecplot is loading the data as transient. To break the time dependence, you can go to Data > Edit Time Strands. Set Time Strands to 0, select all of your zones and then hit apply. You should now notice that all of the zones show up separately in the Zone Style Dia...

Re: where is "select all"?

Hey pgiel,

As an interim solution you can access this functionality through our macro language. Please copy the below into an mcr file:

#!MC 1400
# Created by Tecplot 360 build 14.0.2.35002
$!PICK SETMOUSEMODE
MOUSEMODE = SELECT
$!PICK ADDALL
SELECTTEXT = YES

Re: Local value of velocity on a slice

Hey Hooman,

To get the local values for the slice, you will first need to extract the slice into a new zone. Then by looking at this zone, you should see that the min and max values should be for only the defined plane.

Re: Extract Velocity Profile from 2d Contour

Hello abc123, Slices can only be performed when viewing in 3D Cartesian. If you looking to extract the data along a line on the plane I would recommend using the Create polyline geometry tool. You can find this tool on the toolbar next to the other geometry tools (left click to place a point, right ...

Re: Reload a particular data file

As Xinmude says, as long as they have the exact same name and are in the exact same location as the data files they are replacing, you should not need to change your layout file. It should automatically load the new data files.

Re: How to extrude 2D data into 3D

Hello Wei,

Previous versions of Tecplot came with an extrude add-on. This had to be enabled in the tecplot.add file. The add-on has yet to be ported into Tecplot 360 EX versions.

How are you creating each of these zones? Normally one would use Data > Create Zone and specify the geometry.

Re: export "probe at" data

Hello bellekitten, Unfortunately, we still do not have the capability to save data from the Probe tool. The macros can now be found here: http://www.tecplot.com/downloads/macros/. One thing that can be done, is that you can modify the extract along a polyline macro command so that it only exports a ...

Re: HELP:Extract data from a fixed (x,y) from multi zones

Hello mjyip, Tecplot 360 does have a tool available called Time Series Plot. You will find this under the Tools menu. To get this to work, you are going to need to tell Tecplot that your data is transient. You can do this by using the Data > Edit Time Strands feature. Once the data is recognized as ...
