Re: Problem with TecUtilSystem() under Windows

Further research has allowed me to find a a way to do this. The correct syntax under windows would be cmd /c polygrid <sphere> sphere.dat if polygrid is not in your path then the syntax would be cmd /c "c:/Program Files/polygrid" <sphere> sphere.dat The trick is to first invoke the cmd /c....

Re: Problem with TecUtilSystem() under Windows

1) polygrid ^<sphere>sphere.dat did not work 2) giving the complete path for polygrid did not work 3) straight batch file does not run, Batch file will work if it is run using the cmd command cmd /c batchfilename.bat will work, sure would be nice if the redirections would work under windows, rather ...

Field of View Question

I am modifying an add-on and within that add-on I want to search through a data array and find only those nodes that are within the field of view. I thought I could just restrict it based on axis, but that does not work if the field of view is in 3-D zoom or a zoom on the workspace. Is there a simpl...

Re: How to calculate the volume from 3D

If you have tecplot 360, not focus, Go to Analyze menu and select calculate variables then select cell volume, select cell center for variable location. That will calculate the cell volume for each cell you can then do a summation outside of tecplot for the areas you want or use data alteration to a...

Re: Plotting 2 files on a single XY line chart

I did not realize you had multiple transducers In which case the format should be Variables = "Time" "Transducer1" "Transducer2"... "TransducerN" Zone T="Transducer Data" Time(1) Td1_Temp(1) Td2_Temp (1)... Tdn_Temp (1) Time(2) Td1_Temp(2) Td2_Temp (...

Re: Plotting 2 files on a single XY line chart

Just put all your experimental and transducer data into two seperate tecplot zones Variables = "Time" "Temperature" Zone T="Experimental Data" Time(1) Temperature (1) Time(2) Temperature (2) .. .. .. Time(n) Temperature (n) Zone T="Transducer Data" Time(1) Tem...

Why don't you just go to plot/blanking and blank all points less than 1000 for variable 3

Re: Display of one element.

I would think you could do this by the following Go to Data Alter {CellNumber} = J Make sure you set the variable location to cell center and variable type to long integer That will number each element in your array. Then go to data blanking and turn it on Choose Blank Entire Cell Choose Primary Val...

Re: Multiple data file summation

If your plt files are not too big, you you can read all your plt files into tecplot as a single data set you could then duplicate one zone and use data alteration to set the variable of interest to 0. Then write a macro that loops through all the zones to sum that variable into the zone you just dup...

Re: Method for saving views between Tecplot sessions?

There are four ways to do this. 1) The easiest way is if you are examining just one frame save the frame style, this would be under the frame menu then read it back after you have read the new dataset. Look at the options both when reading and writing the frame style. 2) Save the original layout fil...
