Re: Auxiliary Coordinate system

Can you please give details? I have a channel flow in which x is streamwise direction and y is wall-normal direction (and z is spanwise). I want to change the coordinates such that x is still streamwise but y is now spanwise and z is wall-normal. Can you please suggest how this can be achieved? Than...

average of zones for different times

Hello, I have some data files (e.g. C1.dat, C2.dat,C3.dat, etc). Each file has 200 zones in it (corresponding to different time). Each data file is basically a line probe (e.g. values of Velocity w.r.t distance Z at various times). I need to do ensemble averaging of all the probes, i.e. plot average...

Re: Fit a distribution on Histogram

You need to load add-on histogram and then go to Tools --> Distribution plots --> Histogram

You can plot distribution of whatever variable you like.

Fit a distribution on Histogram

Hello folks, I am creating histograms in Tecplot and would like to fit normal or lognormal distribution curve on top of it. Can someone plz help me to understand how to put e.g. log-normal or normal distribution on top of the histogram that I created in Tecplot? (I am trying to see variation of my d...

Re: Tecplot on remote server

Thanks for the answer. The problem is - how can make Tecplot see the data on HPC? I open Tecplot on my local machine. Is there any way Tecplot can connect to HPC server from my local machine to access the files? I used to do this with FV (there is an option to open files on remote server by specifyi...

Re: New user using value blanking

Yes, sorry for the confusion. I have a variable lambda-2 and I can create an isosurface using that variable. But I would like to know if I can somehow visualize isosurfaces for "range" of labmda-2 values instead of a single value. I also wanted to visualize lambda-2 isosurface at specific ...

Re: Vector plot on isosurface

Were you able to do this? I would also be interested to plot velocity vectors on lambda-2 isosurfaces ... plz let me know

thanks

Re: New user using value blanking

Thanks a lot! This helps ... Btw can we not use this approach for blanking the isosurfaces? I am trying to visualize near wall structures in turbulent boundary layer (lambda-2 variable) and I would like to see structures which has certain lambda-2 value. But somehow blanking is not working with iso-...

Hi,

Did you ever find the solution to this problem? I am trying to do the same. Would appreciate if you can help.

thanks

Value Blanking for a range

Hello,

I would like to know if I can blank the variable for a specific range? e.g. I need to blank "y" when it is 5<y<6 ... can I do that? Thanks!

Tecplot on remote server

Hello, I have huge CFD data files on a remote HPC machine (which does have Tecplot installed on it). I was wondering if I can open Tecplot on my local machine and access files on HPC? This way I dont have to copy all those huge files from HPC to my local machine. I am new to Tecplot and would really...

Too many operators and/or operands

Hello all, I am new to tecplot and have following question - I have an equation in which there are more than 100 values that I need to add. But Tecplot gives me error that "Equation has too many operators/operands." It works fine for adding less number of values (e.g. 30). Is there any lim...
