Re: How to access color map in tecplot 2014

I noticed this too. So they released a version before it had the full (and imo basic) functionality of versions prior? That seems pretty ridiculous to me.

Re: SolutionTime

Try &(SOLUTIONTIME%1.3f)

See page 280 of the manual for details on formatting.

Streaklines and periodic domain

Hi All, I am trying to create some streaklines in a 4 passage rotor calculation I did for a axial compressor. Is there a way to tell Tecplot that my solution is rotationally periodic so that if a particle goes to the say max theta boundary, it continues on and shows up at the min theta domain? Curre...

Re: Create variables from instantaneous averages?

For anyone facing the same challenge I have figured out a way to do it, but it isn't very elegant. The way my CGNS loads (and I assume all standard 3D unsteady CGNS files load) is that each spatial zone and each timestep is a different zone in tecplot. Thus for M spatial zones and N timesteps there ...

Create variables from instantaneous averages?

Hi All, I am diving into the world of unsteady CFD and have some questions about unsteady post-processing in Tecplot. To preface, I am loading a transient 3D CGNS file into Tecplot 360 2011/2012 (depending on the computer) R1 for analysis. I am simulating the stall of a rotor-only calculation of a l...

Re: how can I obtain the skin friction lines with tecplot?

Are you trying to plot limiting streamlines? See my post with how I did it if so,

Re: Surface lines for CGNS?

Hi Scott,

I know I can set Aux data using the scripting, but is the PARENTZONE header considered aux data? Can that be set via scripting?

Re: Surface lines for CGNS?

I got it, but it is a clunky solution. I took the advice of scottf in (http://tecplottalk.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=95&sid=2db8552fac1ce656d17a76db665345a4). Because I have a blade O mesh it was relatively straightforward. I created a subzone with the first two I planes of the blade O mesh (the bla...

Surface lines for CGNS?

Hello All, I am wondering if anyone knows how to specify the parent for a surface subzone in CGNS? My CGNS file has an O mesh around a single rotor blade on which I want to plot surface lines to visualize the extent of the TE separation. I make a surface subzone from the I=1 plane of the O-mesh zone...

Calculation of Y+?

Hello All, Let me preface this message by saying I am quite new to the world of CFD and very new to tecplot, so I apologize in advance for any stupidity on my part! I am using tecplot to post-process the results of a proprietary flow solver. My simulation is a steady, single-passage, rotor only calc...
