help plz

Postby hamidamini » Wed Dec 18, 2013 2:30 pm

I have a 2D structure (x,y) which shows the electric field. I need to plot a 3D figure (Electric field, x,y) I need to do that for part of my structure

xmin=0 xmax=1
ymin=0 ymax=-0.02

can anyone help me please?

Thanks

In what format do you have it?

Presumably 0.02, not -0.02?

I would do it in 3D Cartesian view. Plot > Axis > Set Axis > X, Y, ELECTRIC_FIELD.

If your domain extends beyond the limits you mentioned, there are two ways to limit it: value blanking and subzone extraction. (Both of them look strange; there may be better ways to do it, but I don't know them.)

1) Plot > Blanking > Value blanking > Active when X is less than 0, active when X is greater than 1, active when Y is less than 0, active when Y is greater than 0.02.
Drawback: But then you also have to manually set the Axis ranges in Plot > Axis.
2) Data > Extract > Subzone, enter IJ indices ranges. In Zone Style button at the left, click the new SubZone, make sure it is the only one active.
Drawback: you have to know the IJK indices of your desired area.
