Tecplot's automation language
Python scripts were supported in the alpha version for Legacy 360 (2013). Python inquiries in 2017 should be directed to the PyTecplot Forum.

I wonder if someone could please tell me the correct syntax for nested if conditions
$!IF ( |ACTUALVAR| < |VARF1| ) || ( |ACTUALVAR| > |VARF5| )
I didn't find any of those constructions in the scripting guide or else.

Compound expressions don't go into an if block directly. Instead, they are assigned to a variable using conditional operator and logical operators. See section 12.2 of the scripting guide.
