The meaning of the text in the offical "Qcriterion.mcr&

Postby ytyyutianyun » Tue Dec 10, 2013 5:20 am

I load the fluent "*.cas and *.dat" and then play the macro in http://download.tecplot.com/macros/Qcriterion.mcr

But it shows "enter the variable number"

What the variable number means? is it the nodes number of my own structure or the range of the x axis or the number of points need to paint. I don't know.

So I ask for help.

In Data > Data Set Info, at the right, you see a list of variables and their numbers. Type these numbers in the prompts.

Thanks for solving.

And another question based on the offical "Qcriterion.mcr". In it, I see it get the \lambda_2 matrix, so it can also get the \lambda_2,right? But I don't see any calculation about Eigenvalue. So how can I modify just based on the offical "Qcriterion.mcr" to get the Eigenvalue because it has the code to get the S^2+W^2 matrix. Thanks[/code]

You can use tensoregn add-on to compute eigenvalues, it is builtin since 2009: Tools > Tensor Eigensystem. $!addoncommand syntax here.

Hello ytyyutianyun,

Svetlana is correct that you can use our Tensor addon to calculate the lambda2's.

To have the Qcriterion macro do it for you, open it using a text editor. If you look near the bottom you will notice where it is deleting a range of variables. All you need to do is either remove this line to have it keep all of the variables or change the range to keep only the variables you want.
