Infinity symbol

Postby rbbarber » Wed Apr 26, 2017 10:31 am

I would like to create an axis label for mean velocity over freestream velocity, which in LaTeX would be:

Code: Select all

\bar{u}/u_{\infty}

I can create a makeshift overbar by making an extra text box with a | and placing it over the u, but I can't find an infinity symbol anywhere. A sideways 8 is not the same character and is not adequate.

I am using Tecplot 2016R2 on Windows.

Thank you,
RB

Using WinCompose (free software in public domain), I type infinity via a "compose key + 8 + 8" keys sequence and it works in Tecplot axis label.

Alternatively use the Windows Character Map to copy it using about 5 clicks, or use html code ∞ as shown here.
