Err: Line Too Long

Postby Captain Lightning » Thu Oct 28, 2010 3:09 am

Hi all,

Has anyone received this message before and found a fix? It occurs when using the tecplot data file on an ascii file:

Err: Line Too Long
Error occurred on line number 2963

The line in question is actually quite a few characters long, maybe I reached a limit.

possible workaround: divide the zone into separate parts.

Yes, the text file parser has an unfortunate limitation on line length. This issue often arises when people write their own files and put all data values on the same line.

Sorry for my interjection, but what about if it needs to place a lot of values on a same line like a file which needs block as data packing type?

Solved, it simply lasts to get a new line once the hard limit is reached.

Right! Just insert a newline after a few hundred (or thousand) characters.
